Warm Bacon Dip

Sunday afternoon was my brother's birthday party. About two hours before the party, I realized I had nothing to bring, and the invitation said to bring a snack to share. So I did what any self respecting girl would do, which was scour my pinterest board of food to try for a recipe that I had most of the ingredients for. And Warm Bacon Dip was the answer! Really, who doesn't love bacon??

All I needed to get was sour cream, and I could get that at the store down the street. So I assembled my ingredients:

Cut the bacon into bits, snip the chives into to tiny bits, and mix it all together. Since it was a billion degrees, and it all fits in a 1-quart dish, I put this bad boy in my toaster oven!

It took a little longer to cook, since I didn't preheat the "oven", and then we were running late and had to hurry off to the party, so I didn't get the delicious after picture. Instead, I got a half-eaten picture because it turns out the dip was really good!

Warm Bacon Dip
adapted from the Daisy Brand website

2 cups sour cream
8 oz cream cheese
4 oz bacon bits (honestly, I cooked a pound of bacon, cut into bits, and threw in a handful, so it was probably a lot more)
1/2 cup chives
2 cups cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 400. In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Put the mixture in a 1 quart baking dish. Bake covered for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through. Serve with crackers, vegetables, whatever you feel like dipping in warm, gooey bacon dip!
